Our Sun Club was created with the intent to highlight women who have a profound affect on their communities. In return, we have been honored to meet and work with so many beautiful individuals who inspire us daily.
One of those women is photographer Alessandra Riggio (@alessandrariggioo). Alessandra recently photographed our Costa Baby Blue swim, Sur button down and Sur pant in stunning Hawaii on film. We were so blown away by her talent that we wanted to dive deeper and get to know the woman behind the camera. Enjoy our q&a with Alessandra!

WHAT MADE YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH FILM PHOTOGRAPHY?
My parents have a few boxes of old pictures of them from the 70s-90s that Ive always loved looking through. I like seeing the styles of the past. something about those film photos is what made me put down my digital camera and pick up a film one. I was really drawn to the colors and quality of the film photos.
ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE YOURSELF ONE YEAR AGO.
That money doesn’t always create happiness, a year ago I was working as a server at a 5 star hotel and would often go home with $1000 in tips but the job was soul sucking, I would spend all my tips online shopping to reward myself hahaha
WHAT WORDS DO YOU LIVE BY?
You can manifest your dream life. My dad showed me this movie called The Secret, (there’s books too) but it explains the power of Manifesting. Very interesting stuff and I believe in the power of manifestation whole heartedly
YOUR CREATIVITY SPARKS FROM -
Nature most of the time, I live in hawaii so theres lots of beautiful flora and fauna to keep me inspired. I love walking the beaches and looking for shells, I often think of new photo shoot ideas when I’m doing that!
DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE? WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO OUTFIT OR YOUR FAVORITE EVERY DAY PIECE?
My style is always evolving, currently it’s a laid-back beachy style. Love a good linen pant and some cropped tank tops with a pair of sandals. My favorite everyday piece is a good pair of denim, I recently found the perfect fitting pair of vintage Levi’s at a consignment shop and I wear them all the time, they go with everything!
YOUR WORD FOR 2023
Progress. Im looking to make measurable progress in 2023. I want to take action on a lot of ideas and goals that I’ve had for years. overall, continue to progress in all areas of my life, creatively, mentally, physically, and financially.
WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE BY THE SUN?
Doing little things I love, like hobbies. Gardening, making collages, thrifting, cooking or going for a drive to get a coffee.
I grew up in a place where it was cold and cloudy most of the year. So I learned to do lots of little things that brought me joy and felt like sunshine
